Year 2011 Day 255 September 12: A Trip to the Doriville Post Office

Day 255 Date:  Monday September 12, 2011

Beginning Comments:

Now that I am six weeks out from my surgery, I think it is time for some brief announcements.

The first is about readings classes, and public appearances.

At this point, I do not plan to resume doing anything professional before the middle of October at least.

Also, next week, I intend to make a two week road trip to Minnesota.

For about half the time, I will be staying outside a small Minnesota town where I may not have internet access.

This means, of course, that unless I can get into town to use wireless somewhere, that there may be one week where I may not be able to publish a message consistently.

Today it seems I have the go ahead to split consciousness and do some astral traveling.

At least I am going to try, and see what happens:

"Ashunayetya!

I was already getting an image of Doriville as I wrote the last couple of sentences.

The last time I passed by my Focus 10-12 hometown, it looked like it was under construction.

Today, however, it doesn’t look all that different except the buildings all have somewhat of a glow to them, and, even though there are not any additions to them, they seem bigger.

The post office – which is about a half block off Main Street - seems to be where I need to be.

In my youth, I spent quite a bit of time there, as I often walked to town from the high school and waited there for my father, who would then give me a ride home.

Today, I walk into the building.

This post office had its PO boxes in a small room in front; we had a PO Box (rather than an RFD mail box).

For years, it was Box 55, but today another box (no number) seems to be “lit up” and blinking at me.

The box is bigger than the one my family rented.

No combination is needed.  I wave my hand before the box and the door snaps open.

When I see there is no mail in it, I feel confused.

Why all the bother to get me here if there is no message?

Then I hear someone whisper that the post office is the message.

That confuses me even more at this point.

As I return to normal consciousness I hear someone laugh and say “You got mail, but you are not yet ready to read it.”

Ashunayetya!

Ending Comments:

Some of you might have noticed that I have written this message on Sunday night, rather than Monday morning.

Perhaps I will get some illumination before I publish it.

PS. This morning, I woke up with some interesting dreams, which were interesting (and helpful), but a little too personal to publish.
